cheap books

Ollie's in Bridgeport has tons of children's books...this is in addition to what they usually have. If your kid likes to read or you like to read to them, I would check it out soon. They never seem to keep anything very long! All the books I got were between $.99 and $2.99 but mostly $.99! Lots and lots of character books, Max & Ruby, Dinosaur Train, Star Wars, Charlie and Lola, Spongebob, etc.

Ollie's Good Stuff Cheap

An alphabet book by The Jerk? Yes please!

This is a super cute book for Daddy Daughter reading!

We love this little kitty boy!

A little young for Hal but we love anything Llama Llama

I didn't get this one, but now I wish I had!

My kid

Dress up fun...

My new favorite picture. This is Halle in a nutshell.

She looks like a 70's girl.

Her future's so bright she has two wear 2 shades.

Funny antenna

Mary Tyler Moore getting ready to throw her hat in the air
"You're gonna make it after all" (get that out of your head)

Pudding Fail

Halle and I were going to make BANANA pudding. Notice anything missing?

I sent this picture to Alex and asked him the same questions. He texted back, "What am I supposed to see here?"

New Specs

We went to see Dr. Carpenter, Halle's eye doc, today for a checkup. She is doing wonderful with her glasses so no need for patching, surgery, etc. Praise the Lord! The only small problem is that her current glasses are smooshing her ears down because of the way she wears them. He said that this could cause the cartilage to become permanently damaged so we ordered Hal a new pair of "Big Girl" glasses. Don't worry, they are purple! Will post pictures next week when we get them in.

Tuckered Out

While I was prepping for Alex's birthday party, I set Halle up in the living room with a Scooby Doo Where are You dvd. I think she lasted 5 mins. There is something about Scooby Doo that makes me sleepy too.

Zaza

My sister-in-law Eliza came and visited for a couple days. We played a lot of Words with Friends and did a whole lot of nothing. Halle loves, loves, loves her Aunt Zaza!

If you know Eliza, you will know why my kid is dressed this way.
Having fun.
It really is a wonder her eye still doesn't cross.
She looks over her glasses all the time.
So funny.
Fun with Zaza.

Daddy Daughter Time

Alex went golfing Saturday morning so that evening he took Halle to Target just to give me a break for a little bit. Instead of a toy, this what Halle came home with. A 50% off Easter dress. This girl loves her dress up clothes! She also rode the ice cream truck twice and got a cookie bigger than her head. BTW, how lucky did I get in the husband department!

30 is the new 10, right?

So Alex turned 30 on April 10, but that doesn't mean we had to do some Over the Hill birthday or anything. Cue the Transformers party. We had a 5 day birthday extravaganza; hence the 2 cakes, boy does that make us sound like pigs or what! I fixed some of his favorite foods and he opened lots of presents. Halle loves anything to do with parties or birthdays so a good bit of this was for her. I'm sure Alex secretly loved the Transformers theme too!

Alex's Autobot cake
Nerdbombers and "the point"
Gag me with spoon (Chicken Livers wrapped in bacon)
A DQ Ice cream cake
Punch with a Sherbert iceberg
Cheeseball
Presents
The happiest guest
We were unicorns according to Halle
Waiting on Daddy to open presents
Helping Daddy open presents
Alex's favorite present. A UFC 96 poster, autographed by every fighter who fought that night.
Alex and his buddy were at this fight in Columbus, Ohio.

Alexisms

Two funny things (out of a billion) Alex said this weekend...

Lying in bed watching King of Queens:

Alex: Do they ever say where in New York this takes place?

Me: Are you serious?!?!

At church on Sunday:

Me: Didn't we just take communion not too long ago?

Alex: The grape juice must be getting ready to expire.

Halle opens Easter basket

Halle finds her Easter basket

Easter in an eggshell

Easter started with a short visit from Grammy and Zaza. They took Halle to see The Lorax again while Alex and I saw American Reunion. The rest of Easter went like this...

Halle's Easter Cactus aka her fliar (flower)

Coloring Eggs (most were cracked before they even hit the dye)

The Masterpieces

Opening her Easter basket after church

She probably ate 4 pieces of chocolate while going through her basket

Willy gets an Easter present too

Wearing her new Minnie Mouse garb

Daddy helping Halle find the hidden eggs

She said something really funny when she opened the egg but I don't remember what it was.
I showed her this picture and asked her what was inside the egg hoping she would say the same thing.
She told me Jesus was inside the egg. Not what she said the first time, but still just as funny.

We had fun busting the eggs on the sidewalk. Alex and i smashed them on each others heads too.
It got a little out of control.

Again, it got a little out of control. Daddy's party foul.

Daddy broke the bunny. (He has been super glued and is back outside now)

We make messes, but we always clean them up.
